Chinese Five Spice Ground Pork Noodles with Cabbage

Ingredients

1 pound ground pork

2 tablespoons garlic

2 tablespoons ginger

½ teaspoon Chinese Five Spice

2 Tablespoons oil

1 Teaspoon toasted sesames

1 Pound Asian Egg Noodles

or your favorite rice noodle

2 Teaspoon cane sugar

3 Tablespoons soy sauce

½ medium white onion

2 green onions

2 Tablespoons sesame oil

2 cups green or napa cabbage

1 red Fresno Chili

2 Tablespoons rice wine vinegar

Salt to taste


Directions

  1. Put on water to boil and cook noodles until al dente -cook time depends on the type and brand-follow instructions on the package

  2. Mince garlic, ginger, white onion, and Fresno chili

  3. Slice cabbage into really thin slivers

  4. Mix sesame oil, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, and Chinese Five Spice in a small bowl

  5. Heat a large frying pan or wok on medium-high heat and add pork

  6. Brown pork and add cabbage, stirring to completely combine

  7. Add garlic, ginger, and onion and completely combine

  8. Add liquid mixture and completely combine

  9. Cook for a few minutes to let everything incorporate together

  10. Add noodles and toss everything together

  11. Cook for 2 minutes

  12. Serve and add green onions and toasted sesames to top


Note: Use ground tofu or your favorite ground protein. If you don’t have fresh chilies use your favorite dried chili. Top with Sambal or your favorite spicy sauce if you like a bit more kick
